1 Facebook Interest List, a Great Feature For Marketers

Facebook interest lists are a bit like Facebook lists. In Facebook lists, you make groups and monitor people or pages through those groups. But in Interest lists, you can add people, pages, or subscriptions under one list, and monitor updates via those lists.
Not only is this a great way of organizing your news feed, it also give you the option to share your interests with other people. You can set your lists public or private. Only you can see he lists you designate as private, while public lists can be seen by anyone. People can then subscribe to your lists.
You may not have realized it yet, but this is another way for marketers to benefit from social media. And since most bloggers also market their blogs on social media, they will find this tool very useful.

0 Facebook begins testing new ‘Share Music’ feature in News Feed Share box

facebook music
For a select number of users, Facebook has made it even easier for share the music you have been listening to on Spotify by incorporating a new ‘Share Music’ option in the Share box on its News Feed.
With the new ‘Share Music’ option, you don’t have to rely on Open Graph integration in popular music streaming services to automatically push or manually share the music you are listening to. Instead, you can share any track with friends simply by selecting the option and typing it in the result input box.
Screenshots shared with The Next Web show that Spotify’s catalog is included in song searches but Facebook has long offered integration with other services, including Rdio, so tracks may not be limited to just one catalog.

0 Facebook's App Center is Live on iOS, Android and Web

“The App Center represents a new way for users to discover social applications,” said Facebook’s Doug Purdy. ”We see applications and sites like Pinterest, Quora, and Fab.com  and driving millions and millions and millions of users using Facebook.”
Facebook also shared a bunch of interesting stats at the launch announcement:
  • More than 230 million people play games on Facebook every month
  • More than 130 games on Facebook have more than 1 million monthly active users.
  • More than 4,500 timeline apps have launched since f8 in September 2011.
  • Facebook drove people to the Apple App Store 83 million times in May.
  • Facebook drove people to iOS apps 134 million times in May (someone who already has the app and is directed back to it from Facebook.)
As of May, seven of the top 10 grossing iOS apps and six of the top 10 Android apps have integrated with Facebook.
Oddly, the App Center is only available to US users right now, but the company says that a worldwide launch will happen over the coming weeks.

0 How to Stop Facebook from Tagging You in a Photo

Want to stop anyone from tagging you – ever?
There are simple steps that you can follow and it’s a matter of adjusting your privacy settings.
First, go to your Account at the top far right of your profile page and click on Privacy Settings from the drop down menu.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and go to Apps, Games and Websites. While there, go to “Info accessible through your friends” and click Edit Settings.
You will then be shown a new window with a number of checked and unchecked boxes beside the information you share on Facebook.
To stop people from tagging you in photos, uncheck the box that says “Photos and videos I’m tagged in.” Don’t forget to click Save Changes once you’re done.

0 How to create Facebook Like button

The Like button lets a user share your content with friends on Facebook. When the user clicks the Like button on your site, a story appears in the user's friends' News Feed with a link back to your website.
When your Web page represents a real-world entity, things like movies, sports teams, celebrities, and restaurants, use the Open Graph protocol to specify information about the entity. If you include Open Graph tags on your Web page, your page becomes equivalent to a Facebook page. This means when a user clicks a Like button on your page, a connection is made between your page and the user. Your page will appear in the "Likes and Interests" section of the user's profile, and you have the ability to publish updates to the user. Your page will show up in same places that Facebook pages show up around the site (e.g. search), and you can target ads to people who like your content.
There are two Like button implementations: XFBML and Iframe. The XFBML (also available in HTML5-compliant markup) version is more versatile, but requires use of the JavaScript SDK.

0 Facebook’s “People Are Talking About This” Metric

A Facebook "People Are Talking About This" Means
“This metric refreshes daily but goes back a week. So it’s the current barometer of how much conversation is being generated by someone’s Page on Facebook. It’s a good gauge of the content Pages are putting up and how to generate more conversations around a Page.”
The different interactions that make up the “people talking about this” metric are any stories (formerly “posts”) that users share in their timeline. This includes:
  • liking a Page
  • posting to a Page’s Wall
  • liking, commenting on or sharing a Page post (or other content on a page, like photos, videos or albums)
  • answering a Question posted
  • RSVPing to an event
  • mentioning a Page in a post
  • phototagging a Page
  • liking or sharing a check-in deal
  • or checking in at a Place.

It turns out the company unveiled improvements to Facebook Chat, including a new group chatting feature and, in partnership with Skype, the ability to make video calls. 0 Facebook Launches New Questions Service(Q&A)

Ask Anything, Get Quality Answers

Facebook Questions helps you tap into the collective knowledge of the more than 500 million people on Facebook. For example, if you're vacationing in Costa Rica and want to know the best places to surf, you can use Facebook Questions to get answers from nearby surfing enthusiasts. Because questions will also appear to your friends and their friends, you'll receive answers that are more personalized to you.
To ask a question to the community, just click the "Ask Question" button at the top of the homepage. You can also ask questions about your friends from their profiles, similarly to how you would post on their Walls.
